Why are there a lot of complaints about the 2002-2004 Ford explorer transmission?

is it because there are a lot of them on the road or what and i heard that the trannys were redesigned in 2005 and they didnt fail

I own a 2004 v8 explorer its the biggest heap of crap i have eva owned. I have rust comming through the doors, paint is peeling off the roof and tailgate, rattles, when i brake there is a loud clunk from the front rotors.i payed 50 grand for this brand
