I recently got a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero GX with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinders, a mechanic told me that my engine was no good because of the type of engine that it was despite the fact that the car runs excellent. I'm a little worried though because I don't know

Relax, just keep driving it. That type of engine for whatever reason just may not be that mechanics favorite. You should be ok!!!!!
