Carson Ross: 'Major' milestone will be revealed Monday
It was mostly a summary of things known on Thursday when Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross gave his annual speech.
Great schools, bond projects on schedule, revitalizing downtown, promoting healthy lifestyles among children.
When Ross got to news about the Missouri Innovation Park, however, ears were perked.
While the announcement was short, it got people talking.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, officials from the University of Missouri, including Chancellor Brady Deaton, and members from the Economic Development Corporation will be on hand to announce what Ross called “a major milestone” in the MIP project.
The announcement will center on two items, specifically the university’s recommitment to the project, which began nearly three years ago, and a formal presentation of a construction timeline for the Mizzou Center, which officials feel will serve as the jumping-off point for business planning to locate there.
“This will excite a lot of people,” Ross said before his speech during the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce’s regular luncheon.
