Why are there still new Mitsubishi EVO 9s out there vs Subaru WRX STI?

I am in central FL, and I notice that dealers still have several NEW 06 Mitsubishi EVO 9s. It's much harder finding a new 2007 Subaru WRX STI, since they get sold quicker. I am a prospective buyer and would like to have some input on this.

This is just a guess, but from what I have seen, it may have to do with the area you live in. I live in Maine, and I see about 5 STi's driving down the road evey single day, if not more. I know 3 people who own one. But, I have only seen 1 Mitsubishi

Subaru is using the SEMA show in Las Vegas to show off some of its home-spun Subaru Performance Tuning parts. The company is taking seven customized vehicles to the show, including Mark Higgins's record-breaking Isle of Man rally car.

Along with it will be the SRT USA Rally America car, the Subaru Performance Tuning 2012 WRX STI four-door, the Kicker Audio 2012 WRX STI five-door, the Subaru Impreza Sport five-door accessory vehicle, the Subaru Impreza four-door and a 1986 Subaru XT project car.

Higgins's 2011 WRX STI broke the record at the Isle of Man 37-mile track with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds, averaging more than 115 mph. The Subaru was gently tuned, only receiving safety systems, upgraded brake pads and an open muffler to warn spectators. The speed limiter was turned off to allow the car to hit speeds of 162 mph on the longest straights, and the springs and dampers were changed to compensate for the several jumps in the course. The wheels were wrapped with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tires.
