What does hp rating and cfm rating mean on a performance drop in air filter?

i bought a spectre drop in air filter and it says its HP rating-570 and CFM Rating-1240 what does this mean?

Nothing really. An air filter does not produce horse power. It accommodates an engine built for additional power but provides no advantage on it's own. You really didn't think changing the filter would make the car faster did you?
